One of the most recent additions to the visitor list for Texas football this weekend for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff is also a commit of a fellow Big 12 school. Texas is now set to host the three-star TCU Horned Frogs offensive tackle commit and Melissa High School product Trevor Goosby.

A report from Gerry Hamilton of Inside Texas on June 9 (paid content) confirms that Texas will be hosting Goosby for an unofficial visit this weekend. Flood will be the coach primarily recruiting Goosby when Texas hosts him for his unofficial visit, starting on June 10.

In this IT report, Hamilton notes that Flood and the Longhorns were impressed by Goosby during their spring football evaluations around the state of Texas.

Moreover, Goosby originally committed to TCU on April 26, 2022, after taking multiple unofficial visits with new head coach Sonny Dykes during spring ball. Goosby actually took three visits to Fort Worth during the spring.

There is also an upcoming official visit that Goosby has with the Horned Frogs, set to start on June 16.

Sark, offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood, and the Longhorns are starting to make a bigger push for the recent TCU commit heading into the summer. If Goosby continues to check the boxes that Flood and the Longhorns staff are looking for out of an offensive tackle recruit, watch out for this push to continue on into the fall.

Texas did have a previous relationship built with Goosby before his commitment to TCU a couple of months ago.

Flood and the Longhorns were showing interest in Goosby before his commitment to TCU, but he doesn’t have a Texas offer as of yet. He did take an unofficial visit with Texas during the weekend of the Orange-White Game back on April 23.

If he comes out of this unofficial visit with Flood and this staff this weekend with a Texas offer in hand, that will be telling of how much he will be prioritized by the Longhorns for the rest of the offseason.

Texas will also be looking to make a big impression on Goosby before taking his official visit with TCU next weekend. This could be the opportunity for Texas to make a big move to get a rising local product in the potent 6-foot-7 and 260-pound Goosby.

Sark and the Longhorns currently hold commitments from five recruits in their 2023 class. But Flood and the Longhorns have yet to add any offensive line commits in the 2023 class, which is a ball they could get rolling this summer.
