The clear-cut top target for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff in the 2023 Texas football recruiting class, the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning, is soon set to arrive on campus in Austin for his official visit this weekend. Arch’s official visit to Texas is set to likely last multiple days and it will start on June 17.

Sark, quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee, and the Longhorns are in a prime position to make a big impression on Arch and his camp during his summer visit this weekend. This official gives Texas the chance to start the process of closing in on a commitment from Arch if they can make the right pitch.

The significance of this official visit for Arch to the Forty Acres is undoubted. Texas will be looking to separate itself from the rest of the competition among the top schools in the race to land a commitment from Arch. And the main competition that Texas is facing is the Georgia Bulldogs.

Why 5-Star QB Arch Manning should pick Texas football over Georgia?

Texas and Georgia are likely going to be the two schools that Arch ultimately decides between. That means one of the main tasks at hand this weekend for Sark, Milwee, and the Longhorns will be setting themselves apart from Georgia during their pitch to Arch this weekend.

With that in mind, here’s a look at three reasons why Arch should commit to the Longhorns over Georgia.

Potential for an elite supporting cast with the Texas offense

One aspect of the recruitment that Sark and the Longhorns are likely to harp on for Arch is the fact that this offense on the Forty Acres is building up to be something elite.

Texas should be able to put this improved offense that could be one of the best in the entire country on display this fall. Led by the trio of star junior running back Bijan Robinson, sophomore wide receiver Xavier Worthy, and former Ohio State freshman transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers, this offense should be insanely explosive in 2022.

Texas also could put together quite the potent 2023 recruiting class at the skill positions with Arch in the mix. Other recruits to watch that would likely want to play with Arch that could also join the Longhorns 2023 class are five-star DeSoto wide receiver Johntay Cook, five-star El Campo running back Rueben Owens, and four-star Langham Creek wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway, among many others.

And considering the fact that the overall production of the offense this fall and how the quarterback situation develops will both be closely monitored by Arch, this could bode well for Texas once this recruitment is wrapped up.

The aspect of Texas rapidly improving the offense in Year 2 under Sark is also something that this coaching staff should, and likely will continue to make part of the main pitch to Arch. This is also a factor that the Longhorns could use to get an edge over Georgia.

If Texas can be one of the best offenses in the entire country this fall, that will start to prove to Arch that he could have a higher ceiling in terms of individual results on the field with the Longhorns compared to Georgia.
