Is an announcement next weekend from Arch Manning possible?
On June 17, the official visit that we’ve all been waiting for among Texas football fans will begin with the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning. Texas is expected to host a multi-day official visit with Manning that will likely run from June 17-19.
Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian, quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee, and the Longhorns could be getting the final official visit from Arch this weekend before any potential decision comes out from him. Arch has already taken officials with the likes of the Georgia Bulldogs (June 3) and Alabama Crimson Tide (June 10).
Unless there is a real change of heart coming out of the Manning camp before the end of this month, it’s hard to see Arch deciding between any other schools besides the trio of Texas, Georgia, and Alabama.
Moreover, the timeline for Arch’s decision is as highly anticipated as any recruit in the country this offseason. There’s not an exact decision timeline that we could pin down at the moment for Arch. But there are some hints about the possible routes he could take in this regard.
For one, if Arch is about ready to make a decision following the Texas official visit, we will likely have a landing spot announced from him within the next couple of weeks.
Could 5-Star Texas football QB target Arch Manning arrive at a decision by next weekend?
A report from Hudson Standish of Horns247 (paid content) this week points out the possibility of Arch announcing during the Manning Passing Academy next weekend could be something to watch out for. But if Arch isn’t ready to make his decision by the end of this month, it looks likely that Arch will wait until the fall to make his announcement.
There is a similar potential timeline that was given before from Inside Texas in the last couple of months noting that it is very likely that Arch could make his decision during the summer.
A common sentiment at this point of the offseason is that Arch waiting until the fall to officially make a decision is something that would actually benefit Texas. The thought here is that if Arch does wait until the fall to commit, he would likely be watching to see the product that Texas puts out on the field this coming season.
And that would put Texas in control of their own destiny in the race to land a commitment from Arch. On the other hand, even if Arch does announce his commitment at the Manning Passing Academy next weekend, Texas would still be getting the final word with him and his camp after this official visit in Austin starting on June 17.
That is still a notable opportunity for Sark, Milwee, and the Longhorns to latch onto.
Texas will be hosting roughly a dozen official visitors during this important weekend on the recruiting trail, obviously headlined by the elite Louisiana quarterback Manning. A successful visit weekend for Sark and the Longhorns staff in the next couple of days could make waves for them on the recruiting trail for the rest of the summer.
