It certainly seems like the narrative surrounding the recruitment of the versatile and talented four-star Temple athlete/wide receiver Mikal Harrison-Pilot has changed as it pertains to the Longhorns’ standing with him and his camp coming out of this official visit weekend. Heading into the weekend, it looked like Texas was in the mix among four or five top schools in the race to land a commitment from Harrison-Pilot.

Now, Texas might even be considered a pace-setter in the recruitment of Harrison-Pilot depending on how their pitch with him settles in the next week or so. New wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion has done a great job in this recruitment thus far and continued to build on his bond with Harrison-Pilot and his camp during this official visit.

Texas is likely in the same ballpark, if not leading, the likes of the Houston Cougars and Cal Golden Bears coming out of the weekend. And I would assume that Texas is close to or even with the Oklahoma Sooners in this recruitment after Marion and this staff pushed some of the right buttons with this speedy in-state wideout.

Sark and Marion did a fantastic job getting the right pitch in place for Harrison-Pilot this weekend along with getting him on campus simultaneous to Arch. There’s no doubt that a commitment from Arch would help Texas in the race to land a commitment from Harrison-Pilot.

At this point, Texas is clearly among the top two or three schools for Harrison-Pilot. There is some excitement and anticipation brewing here as Harrison-Pilot draws close to wrapping up his summer visits. He has an official scheduled for Cal starting on June 24. That will be an official to watch as it pertains to Texas’ standing compared with the rest of the top schools for Harrison-Pilot.
