The visitor that all Longhorns fans want to hear about coming out of the weekend is obviously the No. 1 rated recruit in the nation and Louisiana quarterback Arch. Texas essentially planned out the group of official visitors and much of the schedule during the weekend around what Sark and this staff felt would be best to push the right buttons with Arch and his camp.

For example, Texas having key recruits such as Harrison-Pilot and highly touted four-star Langham Creek wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway on campus for official visits at the same time as Arch was clearly a planned move by Sark and this staff.

The good news for Sark, quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee, and the Longhorns in the recruitment of Arch seems to be that some of the hype pegging him to land with the Georgia Bulldogs has tamped down in the last couple of days. There seemed to be this growing notion around various media circles ahead of Arch’s official with Texas over the weekend that Georgia was starting to set the pace in this recruitment since his official concluded in Athens a couple of weekends ago.

It also won’t hurt Texas in any way that they landed a commitment on June 19 from Arch’s teammate and the potent pass-catching Newman tight end Randle. I don’t think that will ultimately move the needle in any seriously impactful way with Arch as he figures out where Texas stands among his top schools in the next couple of weeks. Texas will take all the help they can get in this recruitment, though.

The uncertainty surrounding the recruitment of Arch coming out of this weekend is the decision timeline he’s on. There aren’t any reliable sources on the decision timeline that Arch is planning out at the moment, and that is likely not an accident. Arch and his camp keep this sort of information very tight.

What we do know is that a summer decision timeline is still very possible for Arch and that he’s likely done with his official visits at this point of the offseason. Texas also did about as much as they could with Arch during this official visit weekend to make the right impression here.
