Gehrig Normand, SF

As Texas tries to begin building out the 2023 class this summer, one of the rising targets that could be a gritty addition to the mix is the tough and athletic four-star Birdville (TX) small forward Gehrig Normand. Texas recently added an official visit on the books for Normand for later this month, specifically starting on June 27.

That official visit for Normand to Texas is expected to last through June 28. It is also the final official visit among those that Normand has on the docket at the moment.

Normand also has official visits slated this month with the Wisconsin Badgers (June 20) and Mizzou Tigers (June 13). It’s also worth noting that Normand took an unofficial visit with Texas back on May 16. The other school he visited unofficially last month was the SMU Mustangs, which came specifically back on May 13.

There were some early whispers in this one during the spring that Wisconsin could emerge as the favorite this summer to land a commitment from Normand. But Texas pushing so hard for Normand in the last couple of months has erased most of that chatter that Wisconsin could emerge as the clear favorite in this recruitment.

It goes without saying that this official visit to round out the month of June that will be monumental with the North Texas product Normand. Texas could wind up getting the final word among the schools that he visits officially this summer if Normand reaches a decision before the next college hoops season arrives.
