Javin Simpkins

The last running back I could feasibly see committing to the Longhorns in the 2023 cycle is Miami’s (FL) Javin Simpkins.

Simpkins is rated as the No. 21 running back and No. 343 player nationally.

Listed at 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, Simpkins has a great change of direction and jump-cut ability that allowed him to rush for 1,124 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore.

Simpkins projects as a great receiver out of the backfield and showed flashes of his reliable hands during his four-game junior season.

Although he is not rated as a top-100 type of player, Simpkins is still a four-star recruit that would undoubtedly find a niche in Sarkisian’s offense. He is a very versatile player who would be a perfect second running back take in this class.
