A more likely recruit for the Longhorns to flip in the 2023 class that is visiting campus this month is the three-star TCU Horned Frogs pledge and Melissa offensive tackle Trevor Goosby. The number of times Texas has hosted Goosby in Austin this offseason shows the interest that is very real in this recruitment between him and the Longhorns staff.

This will be the second time that Texas has hosted Goosby for a visit to Austin in the last few weeks alone. Texas hosted Goosby for an unofficial visit back on June 10. He also visited Texas unofficially back in April and January. Goosby has visited Austin just as many times as he has Fort Worth to see the Horned Frogs this year.

Goosby was on campus in Fort Worth last weekend for an official visit with new head coach Sonny Dykes and offensive line coach AJ Ricker. An interesting sidenote here is that former Texas director of recruiting Bryan Carrington is one of the top guys on TCU’s staff recruiting Goosby.

Moreover, Goosby is now set for an official visit with the Longhorns this coming weekend. This will give Texas a chance to get in Goosby’s ear and really make some moves in this recruitment. If offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns are really ready to prioritize Goosby on the recruiting trail this summer, I would expect this relationship to continue to build heading into the fall.

Texas has a real shot here to flip Goosby if they keep pushing the right buttons in this recruitment. And I firmly believe this will continue to be Texas and TCU duking it out on the trail in the race to ultimately secure the commitment of this rising offensive tackle.
