Texas football is in the midst of one of the hottest streaks on the recruiting trail in program history for the 2023 class. Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have reeled in seven commits just since June 23, which was sparked by the pledge from the elite five-star Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning.

And it’s looking like more commits could soon be arriving in the Longhorns 2023 class this week. One group to watch that could add even more numbers to the Longhorns 2023 class is the official visitors that were on campus last weekend.

A key recruit among the official visitors in Austin last weekend that could soon join the Longhorns 2023 class is the current Oklahoma State Cowboys commit and three-star South Oak Cliff edge rusher Billy Walton. Texas hosted Walton for a multi-day official visit starting on June 24. And it appears that this official visit to Texas for Walton and his camp went well by all accounts.

In fact, it seems like this official visit for Walton to Texas went so well that a flip is possible from Oklahoma State. On June 26, there were two expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions that predict Walton to flip his commitment from Oklahoma State to Texas. And both of those Crystal Ball Predictions came with a high degree of confidence.

One of those Crystal Ball Predictions even came from an Oklahoma State insider at GoPokes.com.

But 247Sports wasn’t the only major recruiting service that sees Walton trending from Oklahoma State to Texas coming out of the weekend. The On3 recruiting prediction machine now gives Texas better than an 89 percent chance to flip the commitment of Walton from the Pokes.

Gerry Hamilton of Inside Texas (part of the On3 network) also forecasted Walton to flip from Oklahoma State to Texas, with a confidence level of six out of 10. That is still a decently-high confidence level so close to the conclusion of an official visit weekend.

It definitely looks as if Texas made a big enough impression with Walton and his camp to get him pondering the idea of him flipping from Oklahoma State. And while a flip from Walton isn’t guaranteed, it’s starting to look like more and more of a reality as time moves along since the conclusion of his OV last weekend.

On June 26 alone, the Longhorns reeled in five commits in the 2023 class. That has vaulted the Longhorns 2023 class up to crack the top five in the latest national composite rankings. And there could be more jumps in the national class rankings in the near future if Texas can keep this hot streak going on the recruiting trail for the 2023 class.
