One of the newest names among the five-star targets that the Longhorns 2023 class will be pushing for ahead of the fall is the elite Pinnacle (AZ) tight end Duce Robinson. The top-ranked tight end recruit in the nation has stayed in pretty constant communication with Arch of late.

And the fact that Texas landed a commitment from Arch got them a chance to host Robinson for an official visit to Austin this fall. Texas is specifically set to host Robinson for an official visit to Austin during the high-stakes game weekend against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sep. 10.

That will be the best opportunity that Sark, special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks, and the Longhorns have to make a big move with Robinson. And Texas will surely need to hit on every single mark that they can during Robinson’s official visit since there will be a lot of ground to make up in this recruitment.

Robinson currently appears to be a heavy lean to the USC Trojans and new head coach Lincoln Riley. He is an LA product that sees a lot of potential in terms of his fit at the tight end position in Riley’s offense.

It’s clear, though, that the commitment of Arch is what put Texas on Robinson’s radar this summer. He reportedly mentioned earlier this week that he “already had interest” in Texas. Yet, “with Arch going there” his “interest is higher”.

If Texas could make a big move this fall in the recruitment of Robinson, that would clearly be a massive shakeup for the 2023 class. Texas already has a class building up since landing Arch that could compete for the No. 1 spot in the national rankings. But getting Robinson in the mix would take this group to even greater heights.
