This weekend, 247Sports released their list of the top-ranked high school recruits in the modern era of college football recruiting, which featured multiple Texas football players in the mix. Of the seven perfect-rated recruits in the modern era of college football recruiting, three committed to Texas.

Those three perfect-rated recruits that committed to the Longhorns are all quarterbacks. And there’s a real possibility that two of them play for Texas at the same time.

The three perfect-rated Texas recruits on this list are Isidore Newman’s Arch Manning, Southlake Carroll’s Quinn Ewers, and Madison’s Vince Young. It’s worth noting that there are no other Texas commits on this list, only these three quarterbacks.

Young was the first of the perfect-rated commits for the Longhorns. He played for Texas from 2003-2005, before getting picked in the top five by the Tennessee Titans in the 2006 NFL Draft. Young is one of the true Texas legends and lived up to every bit of the hype he had as a recruit coming out of high school.

Arch Manning and Vince Young lead the way among perfect-rated Texas football commits

Ewers is the next perfect-rated quarterback commit for the Longhorns on this list. He was originally a Texas commit coming out of Southlake Carroll, but eventually flipped to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

But Texas got him back to the Forty Acres out of the NCAA Transfer Portal earlier this offseason.

And then, Arch is the final perfect-rated Texas commit on the list. Arch committed to Texas in the 2023 class back on June 23. Texas also likely got the most hyped-up recruit in college football history by landing Arch a couple of weeks ago.

The three other highest-rated Texas commits in the modern era of college football recruiting rankings are the Woodrow Wilson inside linebacker Sergio Kindle, Plano West strong-side defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, and South Grand Prairie wide receiver BJ Johnson.

The other four perfect-rated recruits on this list were South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Florida State linebacker Ernie Sims, Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, and Michigan defensive tackle Rashan Gary. That makes these three Texas quarterbacks as the only recruits at the position to have a perfect 1.000 rating coming out of high school.
