2022

The 2022 off-season quarterback battle between Hudson Card and Quinn Ewers has been well documented.

Card, who started two games for Texas last season, has the advantage of haven been in the Steve Sarkisian system for one season. Often accused of having happy feet in the pocket, Card has been using the offseason trying to prove to the coaching staff that he is the right man for the job.

Although the competition is very open, it seems as if Card has an uphill battle if he wants to beat out Ewers.

If Ewers pans out the way recruiting services projected, he should be a generational talent and clear starting quarterback at Texas. He has unbelievable arm talent and has spent this offseason working on learning the playbook and improving his decision-making.

The locker room has seemed to gravitate towards Ewers, which can be a telling sign of which way the competition will go.

Unlike last season, I believe Coach Sark will announce a starting quarterback midway through fall camp and stick with his decision throughout the season. Right now, you have to believe Ewers will be that guy.
