2023

Whoever wins the job this fall is on a fast track to be the starter come 2023.

“What about Arch Manning”, people have asked. “If he’s such a generational prospect shouldn’t he start as a true freshman?”

Two things to keep in mind here. One, Ewers was rated just as high as Manning coming out of high school. Two, it is widely believed that Manning and Sarkisian have a mutual understanding that he will redshirt during his first year on the Forty Acres.

Manning will massively benefit from spending a year learning the complicated playbook of Coach Sarkisian while adding muscle in a proper college football strength and conditioning program.

2023 will be the year of Ewers, who after a strong 2022 campaign, could position himself as a top draft pick come April of 2024.

Unfortunately for guys like Maalik Murphy and Charles Wright, the transition from Ewers to Manning already seems to be in the cards.
