Quarterback

The Texas quarterback battle between Quinn Ewers and Hudson Card has been beaten into the ground by pundits and fans alike this offseason. We have finally reached the point where it comes to a head with Steve Sarkisian having to make a decision on who his starting quarterback for the 2022 season will be.

Sarkisian has purposely let this play out, wanting to make the right decision while sticking with one quarterback throughout the whole season.

Heading into fall camp, all signs point to former 1.0000 rated five-star transfer Quinn Ewers as the guy in 2022. Although Ewers has yet to attempt a collegiate pass, the eye-popping tools he displays on the practice field are hard to ignore.

Card, on the other hand, is entering his third season on the Forty Acres and has had an extra year in Coach Sarkisian’s system. Rated as the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2020, Card is no slouch himself. His problem in eight games in 2021 was his happy feet in the pocket. I believe Card can be a very good collegiate quarterback if given adequate time to throw. The million-dollar question is, will he be a better collegiate quarterback than Ewers?
