A busy news week concerning some targets of the 2023 Texas football recruiting class continued on Aug. 9. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian could see a couple of former priority targets of the 2023 class return to the forefront in the middle of August.

And one source of at least one potential priority target returning to the forefront for the Longhorns 2023 class in early August is the Texas A&M Aggies. An up-and-down ride for the Aggies 2023 recruiting class so far this offseason has continued this week.

Outside of losing out on the elite five-star Denton-Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill to the Aggies 2023 class, Texas has mostly gotten the best of their in-state rival on the recruiting trail for this cycle.

Texas can continue to take advantage of some of the tough stretches for the Aggies on the recruiting trail of late if they can maybe land or flip a commitment or two out of College Station. That won’t be any easy feat for Sark and the Longhorns staff, though.

Top former A&M commits that Texas football could be after this fall

Both head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies and Sark and the Longhorns are smart and savvy recruiters that will continue to pursue their top targets on the trail until pen is put to paper on signing day. That’s what will make some of the key battles on the recruiting trail heading into the fall between Texas and Texas A&M so intriguing.

Yet, here’s a look at two former Texas A&M commits in the 2023 class that the Longhorns should pursue heading into the fall.
