Texas football to host open fall practice for fans on Aug. 16

Texas football now has an open fall practice set on the docket in the next week or so that will allow fans to see the team go through drills before the start of the regular season. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and his Texas squad will be hosting this open fall practice at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Aug. 16.

The official Texas Football Twitter page posted this announcement on their timeline on Aug. 11 for Longhorn Nation to come out and enjoy the festivities during this open practice on Aug. 16. This will give the fans some front and center insight into what Sark and the Longhorns look like through fall camp.

This open fall practice for Sark and the Longhorns is set to take place at DKR on Aug. 16, with the start time at 7 p.m. CT. The open practice is free admission for the fans.

Texas football announces an open fall practice for the fans for free at DKR on Aug. 16

In an official release on Aug. 11, the University of Texas announced more information on the open practice. According to this official release, Texas will have “gates 1 and 7 open at 6 p.m. on San Jacinto Street”.

Here’s more information on the open practice thanks to this official release from the university this week.

"Fans will be able to sit in sections 3-6 on the west side of the stadium.  Fans with ADA needs should enter Bellmont Hall from Gate 7 and take the elevator to the seventh floor.Official season posters will be given away upon entry.During the practice, fans can enjoy Happy Hour pricing on beers including $5 domestic beers and $6 premium beers.Complimentary parking is available in the Trinity Garage located south of the stadium; fans can enter the garage from either MLK Blvd. or Trinity Street."

This will be the first time that the Longhorns faithful can watch their team in person in some sort of on-field action since the altered version of the Orange-White Game back in late April.

Moreover, this open practice for Sark and the Longhorns will take place just a few weeks before the regular season kicks off. Texas fans will get to see a lot of football at DKR between this open practice and the first three games of the non-conference schedule.

Texas finished up last season with a record of 5-7 (3-6 Big 12), missing out on bowl season for the first time since 2016. Sark and the Longhorns are set to open up the 2022 regular season at home at DKR on Sep. 3 against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks out of the Sun Belt, with kickoff time set for 7 p.m. CT.
