Texas football WR Agiye Hall indefinitely suspended from team
New developments surfaced in the saga involving the arrest of the redshirt freshman Texas football wide receiver Agiye Hall heading into the weekend. A statement released from second-year Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian on the afternoon of Aug. 12 indicates that Hall is now suspended indefinitely from the team.
Sarkisian released this statement following the news of the arrest of Hall for criminal mischief in Travis County on the night of Aug. 11.
Inside Texas was the first to report. the arrest of Hall for criminal mischief, which is considered a Class B Misdemeanor and carries a penalty between $100-$750. Inside Texas reportedly had this data made available regarding the arrest of Hall on Aug. 11 via the Travis County Sherriff’s Office record system.

Here’s how the statement read from Sark concerning the suspension of Hall from the Longhorns indefinitely on Aug. 12.
"“We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him indefinitely from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program.”"
Texas originally landed a commitment from Hall by way of the NCAA Transfer Portal back in April. He entered the transfer portal after spending one season playing for head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
During his one season playing for Alabama, Hall registered four catches for 72 receiving yards (18.0 yards per catch) and no receiving touchdowns. Half of his catches last season for the Crimson Tide came in the College Football National Championship Game loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Moreover, Hall originally signed with Alabama’s 2021 class as a highly touted four-star recruit hailing out of Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, FL. He was one of Alabama’s eight highest-rated signees in the No. 1 ranked 2021 recruiting class.
Texas finished up last season with a record of 5-7 (3-6 Big 12), missing out on bowl season for the first time since 2016. Sark and the Longhorns are set to open up the 2022 regular season at home on Sep. 3 against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks out of the Sun Belt, with kickoff time set for 7 p.m. CT.
