4-Star WR Jalen Hale confirms official visit with Texas football
There were a lot of notes and nuggets that came about concerning key targets and commits in the 2023 Texas football recruiting class during the first full opening week of the high school football season. One of the notable nuggets that came about early this weekend was courtesy of the highly touted four-star Longview wide receiver Jalen Hale.
As a priority recruit for head coach Steve Sarkisian and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion in the Longhorns 2023 class, Hale will have one of the more highly anticipated decisions of the fall. Hale is set to announce his commitment on Sep. 21, a little less than one month from now.
It also now looks as if there is an official visit schedule that Hale has in mind for the fall. According to Cole Patterson of Orangebloods/Rivals (paid content), Hale now has his September visit schedule in place.
Texas is one of the three schools on the docket to get an official visit from Hale this fall. Hale officially visit Austin for that big-time game weekend on Sep. 10 between Texas and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
That means yet another critical visitor for the Longhorns on the recruiting trail that will be on campus during the biggest non-conference game of the season in Week 2 against the No. 1 ranked Crimson Tide.

Alabama is also part of the trio of schools set to get an official visit from Hale this fall. Hale is set to officially visit Tuscaloosa for their regular season opener, set for Sep. 3 against the Utah State Aggies out of the Mountain West Conference.
The last official visit on the schedule for Hale this fall will be the in-state rival Texas A&M Aggies.
Despite not originally cracking the top three finalist schools for Hale during the summer, head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies look to be making their way back into the picture for this touted wideout. Texas A&M looks to be getting Hale to campus for an official visit on Sep. 17, when the Aggies take on the No. 16 Miami Hurricanes and new head coach Mario Cristobal.
All around, this was a big weekend for Hale. He put on a show for the Longview Lobos in their opener, which resulted in a convincing 36-10 win over McKinney Boyd on Aug. 26.
Hale remains a hot commodity on the recruiting trail this fall. And if his performance for Longview in the first game of his senior season of high school football is any indication, Hale should only continue to trend up from here.
Texas currently holds commitments from 22 recruits in the 2023 class. If Texas can land a commitment from Hale this fall, he would be the fourth wide receiver in the 2023 class along with the elite five-star DeSoto product Johntay Cook, four-star Aldine Eisenhower product Ryan Niblett, and four-star Spring Dekaney product Jonah Wilson.
