851. 0. Stillwater, OK. TBD. TBD. Saturday, Oct 22. 856. 5-2

What could wind up being the most difficult two-game stretch of the regular season for the Longhorns this fall starts in Week 8. Texas gets longtime head coach Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the road in Stillwater on Oct. 22.

This preseason-top 15-ranked Oklahoma State team is going to be a difficult matchup for the Longhorns straight up. That’s not to mention the fact that Texas will be facing Oklahoma State in a hostile atmosphere at Boone Pickens Stadium during Homecoming weekend in Stillwater.

The second matchup with an Oklahoma school of the regular season will be another interception-fest, with both Ewers and senior quarterback Spencer Sanders throwing multiple picks. But the Oklahoma State defense ultimately holds strong during a day where the Texas offensive line is put under a lot of pressure, allowing a whopping four sacks.

Final score prediction: Oklahoma State-34, Texas-28

5-3. Saturday, Nov 5. 823. TBD. 851. TBD. 0. Manhattan, KS

Texas could be in a spot to face more adversity during this difficult stretch of the regular season schedule that sees them face the Kansas State Wildcats on the road in Manhattan after falling short to Oklahoma State on Oct. 22.

At least Sark and the Longhorns get the bye week in between these two difficult road trips to get the mindsets right for the players.

This meeting with head coach Chris Klieman and Kansas State will ultimately serve as another learning experience for the Longhorns, though. Kansas State is able to snap its losing skid to Texas by riding star running back Deuce Vaughn and transfer quarterback Adrian Martinez to a convincing win.

Kansas State’s ground game is able to muster more than 350 rushing yards as some question marks emerge coming out of this two-game road stretch.

Final score prediction: Kansas State-40, Texas-27
