Sark and the Longhorns have a shot to win three games in a row for the second time this season if they can pull off the upset against a top-10 ranked team in the Baylor Bears on Black Friday. This is a huge opportunity for the Longhorns to prove some of the strides they’ve made in Sark’s second year at the helm on the national stage.

Texas is out of the running for a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game at this point of the season, but they do have a chance to dash Baylor’s College Football Playoff hopes once and for all.

Moreover, after suffering a bad fourth-quarter collapse against Baylor on the road in Waco last season, Texas comes to play in the second half this fall.

The Texas defense continues to stay hot as the offense does just enough to push Baylor over the edge. Behind a massive day from Ewers and senior running back Roschon Johnson, Texas is able to lock up this key victory that builds up a ton of momentum heading into the postseason.

Final score prediction: Texas-28, Baylor-26

Finishing up the regular season with eight wins and a record of 6-3 in Big 12 play is enough to get the Longhorns into the Cheez-It Bowl as one of the better teams out of the conference. As the Big 12 is set to face a team from the ACC in the Cheez-It Bowl, Texas will take on an upstart opponent in head coach Dave Doeren and the NC State Wolfpack.

Unfortunately for the Longhorns, Ewers has a tough day at the helm in the Cheez-It Bowl. Star NC State quarterback Devin Leary outshines Ewers to the tune of 325 passing yards and three passing scores with no interceptions. The NC State passing game, combined with some turnover issues for Ewers, combines to give the Wolfpack this close win over the Longhorns in the Cheez-It Bowl.

Texas finishes the season with an improved record of 8-5 (6-3 Big 12).

Final score prediction: NC State-38, Texas-35
