Game week is here for second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program. But this will not be the first week of game action taking place around the college football landscape this coming weekend.

The 2022 college football season opened up last weekend with a few games taking place as part of the Week 0 festivities. There weren’t any ranked teams participating in Week 0, but there could still be some games that ultimately impact how the Power Five landscape takes shape this season.

Moreover, we also got some updated College Football Playoff odds coming out of Week 0.

Courtesy of On3, we have some of the updated College Football Playoff odds post-Week 0. Sark and the Longhorns still sit in a pretty favorable spot in the latest odds for the Playoff.

Texas football and Steve Sarkisian crack the top 10 in the post-Week 0 College Football Playoff odds

Texas barely cracked the top 10 in the post-Week 0 Playoff odds. In fact, Sark and the Longhorns have the 10th best odds to make the Playoff as of this week.

That gives Texas the second-best odds to make the Playoff out of all the Big 12 teams. The Big 12 team with the best odds to make the Playoff post-Week 0 is the Oklahoma Sooners, who sit one spot above the Longhorns at No. 9.

The top five teams with the best odds to make the Playoff post-Week 0 are the (in order from top-to-bottom) Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Clemson Tigers, and USC Trojans.

Texas will face two of the teams inside the top 10 in the latest Playoff odds during the regular season in Oklahoma and Alabama. Sark’s squad will also get to face four of the teams in the top 20, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Baylor Bears cracked the list.
