One of the two commits in the Longhorns 2024 class at the moment is the highly touted four-star Aledo cornerback Jaden Allen.

The brother of true freshman Texas safety and 2022 signee BJ Allen Jr. is one of the foundational pieces in the Longhorns 2024 class on the defensive side of the ball. He was also the first commit in the 2024 class ahead of the talented four-star Daingerfield (TX) athlete Aeryn Hampton.

Allen still appears to have a great connection with the likes of cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph and safeties coach Blake Gideon. But that hasn’t stopped other schools from pursuing the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex product heading into the fall.

It looks like some other schools pursuing Allen on the recruiting trail such as the Michigan Wolverines, USC Trojans, SMU Mustangs, Houston Cougars, etc. have all reached out to him since the 2024 contact window opened up this week.

Yet, Texas will have the opportunity to continue to affirm the status of Allen’s commitment this weekend when he takes his third unofficial visit to Austin since the summer.

It’s also worth noting that this unofficial visit this weekend for Allen is likely going to be one of many for games at DKR this fall. Keeping him around Austin as much as possible will be big for Texas.
