3 Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks to watch vs. Texas football

Terry Bowden ran a two-quarterback system last season with Chandler Rogers and Rhett Rodriguez splitting snaps. With Rodriguez gone, Rogers seems poised to be the full-time starting quarterback this season.

With seven starts a season ago, Rogers finished 112-of-179 (62.6 percent) for 1311 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. He added 367 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

New offensive coordinator Matt Kubik has a strong history of developing dual-threat quarterbacks. Pairing Rogers with Kubik and the opportunity to be a full-time starter should do a lot for his overall development. With that said, I expect that development to be shown in Sun Belt action, not in week one in DKR.

If (and when) the Warhawks go down early, I do not see Rogers having success when he is forced into pushing the ball down the field.
