Predicting Texas football’s next 2024 commit after 4-Star Hunter Moddon
Jordon Johnson-Rubell, S
One of the top-rated safety targets of the Longhorns 2024 class is the highly touted four-star IMG Academy product Jordon Johnson-Rubell. Texas offered Johnson-Rubell back during the spring, specifically in May 2022.
Since the spring offer went out to Johnson-Rubell, Texas has hung around among the top group of schools for the IMG Academy standout defensive back. Some of the other top schools to watch early on in the race to land a commitment from Johnson-Rubell are the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks, and TCU Horned Frogs, among a couple of others.
Moreover, the trio of special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks, cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph, and Sark are putting in some extra time to make it known how much they want Johnson-Rubell in this 2024 class. The very fact that Texas has a trio of coaches such as Sark, Banks, and Joseph, going after a 2024 safety really shows how valued he is to this staff.
If Texas keeps making some big moves with Johnson-Rubell the way they have in the last few months, it wouldn’t be too shocking to see them start setting the pace in this recruitment. Texas has made a real impression with Johnson-Rubell and his staff, which should continue this fall.
