Defensive line

Nose tackle

1. Keondre Coburn OR Byron Murphy

Nose tackle was a real position of strength for the Longhorns last weekend. Senior nose tackle Keondre Coburn led the way for Texas in the middle of this defensive line, with a whopping five quarterback pressures and one sack. Sophomore Byron Murphy was also solid in more of an overshadowed role last weekend.

Expect Coburn and Murphy to continue to rotate against this questionable Alabama offensive line (at least relative to the rest of their offensive units).

Defensive tackle

1. T’Vondre Sweat

2. Alfred Collins

Texas moved the sizable senior interior DL T’Vondre Sweat over to one of the defensive tackle positions while getting starting reps in the opener. Sweat looked good and added some punch to this group in the trenches for Texas.

If junior DL Alfred Collins is healthy, he could be a rotational player that co-DC/LB coach Pete Kwiatkowski works into the mix this weekend.

Defensive tackle

1. Moro Ojomo

2. Vernon Broughton

The second defensive tackle spot in this three-man front for PK and the Longhorns could be the most interesting for the Alabama game. If Texas can see the likes of senior defensive lineman Moro Ojomo and sophomore Vernon Broughton get home at least once on star junior quarterback Bryce Young, that could make a big impact on this game. They could be some underrated linemen to watch against the Tide.
