Texas football vs. Alabama: Prediction, odds for Week 2 of college football
The highly anticipated matchup between Texas football and the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide is now just two days away. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian are set to face legendary head coach Nick Saban and Alabama in Austin for the first time since way back in 1922.
Sark and the Longhorns are coming into this game sporting a record of 1-0 (0-0 Big 12) following their convincing 52-10 win over head coach Terry Bowden and the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at home on Sep. 3. Texas has now won two games in a row dating back to the end of last season.
Meanwhile, Alabama comes into this game with a record of 1-0 (0-0 Big 12) after dismantling the Utah State Aggies at home on Sep. 3 by the final score of 55-0. That moves Alabama’s winning streak against non-conference opponents to 11 games heading into this matchup against Texas.
Texas is set to host Alabama at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin on Sep. 10, with the kickoff time set for 11 a.m. CT. This game will be televised live on FOX.

Texas football vs. Alabama prediction
It’s pretty difficult to find legitimate ways for Sark and the Longhorns to be able to pull this upset off this weekend. Texas should be considered to have a successful weekend if they show some flashes on each side of the ball of apparent progress in Year 2 under Sark and at least keep the game competitive.
No team ever wants to lose, but there could be some positives to take away from a loss for the Longhorns if they are able to keep the game close at least most of the way. That would signal that better days are ahead under Sark’s guidance.
Texas will have the national spotlight on them this weekend as both the Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff set and ESPN College GameDay will be in attendance in Austin for this matchup against Alabama. This could be a good opportunity for this young Texas team to have a valuable learning experience against the best of the best in Alabama.
