During the pre-game festivities on Sep. 10 ahead of this big-time matchup between Texas football and the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, head coach Steve Sarkisian revealed the depth chart. Most of the position groups held steady in the Week 2 depth chart compared with the regular season opener last weekend against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.

But there were still some changes worth noting in this week’s depth chart release, especially in the two-deep on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe the most notable change was the inclusion of the former Alabama transfer and redshirt freshman wide receiver Agiye Hall in the two-deep.

Hall was listed as the backup behind fellow redshirt freshman wide receiver Casey Cain at the z spot. He also got ahead of true freshman wide receiver Savion Red, who was the backup at the z spot behind Cain on last week’s depth chart.

Another notable change that showed up on this week’s depth chart for the battle between the Longhorns and Crimson Tide was the movement of redshirt sophomore wide receiver Troy Omeire. The former four-star recruit is now listed as the third-string x-wide receiver behind star sophomore Xavier Worthy and then true freshman Brenen Thompson.

Texas football WR Agiye Hall listed on the two-deep vs. Alabama

Last weekend, Omeire was listed on the depth chart as the third-string at z-wide receiver behind Cain and Red.

Moreover, this could mean that we see Hall getting live-game reps for the first time wearing the burnt orange. Hall was active last weekend in the opener against ULM, but he didn’t get any snaps. He also returned to practice this week with the team.

This could get interesting as Hall is set to face his former team, after spending one year playing for Saban and the Tide. He wound up entering the NCAA Transfer Portal last offseason after spending that one season in Tuscaloosa. Soon after entering the portal during the offseason, Hall found his next home with Sark and the Longhorns.

During his one season playing for Alabama, Hall caught four passes for 72 receiving yards (18.0 yards per catch), and no receiving touchdowns.
