Bijan Robinson, RB

One of the more recent injury updates coming about on the afternoon of Sep. 11 has to do with star junior Texas running back Bijan Robinson. It looks as if Bijan suffered a shoulder injury in the loss to Alabama this weekend.

There were times against Alabama on Sep. 10 that Bijan just didn’t look very comfortable after taking multiple big hits from Tide defenders and getting a pretty heavy workload on the ground. The 21 rushing attempts that Bijan had in this game were good for the second-most in any individual game in his collegiate career to date.

Moreover, Bijan now will be getting further evaluation on this upper-body injury. He will get an MRI to further determine the severity of this shoulder injury before Takes takes on UTSA on Sep. 17.

If Bijan is going to miss any live-game action for the Longhorns for the rest of the season, that would obviously be very detrimental to this offense. He was the leading Heisman contender for the Longhorns heading into the regular season.

And Texas will need Bijan to set the tone on the ground heading into Big 12 play in a couple of weeks. He is also a player that is needed for Texas to put the pressure on this UTSA defense next weekend in what could be a pretty high-scoring game in Austin on Sep. 17.

In the first two games of the season, Bijan has touched the ball 37 times, good for 241 total yards and three touchdowns. Of those 241 total yards through two games this season, 128 came on the ground.
