A massive weekend on the recruiting trail for head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff was a bit overshadowed by what took place on the field in the last couple of days for Texas football. This weekend, Texas battled head coach Nick Saban and the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide with what turned out to be a lot on the line for both teams.

For Sark and the Longhorns, there was a lot on the line on the field and on the recruiting trail coming out of this game. The eventual tough one-point loss to Alabama signified progress for Sark and the Longhorns staff, but it also brought about some costly injuries that took some of the shine coming out of this otherwise encouraging weekend on the Forty Acres.

Yet, we can’t overlook how the progress that the Longhorns showed in this game against Alabama will translate on the recruiting trail. Texas was hosting a few dozen visiting recruits this weekend, and it goes without saying that this spirited effort and excellent atmosphere at DKR will have an impact.

With that in mind, here’s a look at six key recruits for the Longhorns that were impressed by this team’s effort against Alabama in Week 2.
