Jalen Hale, WR

One of the major visitors to watch on the Forty Acres this weekend was the highly touted four-star Longview wide receiver Jalen Hale. The postgame recruit reactions from Inside Texas indicate that Hale loved his official visit to Texas this weekend and liked what he saw from the atmosphere at DKR during this game.

What might be the most important takeaway from the official visit for Hale to Austin this weekend is how much he liked what he saw from Sark’s offense. Hale reportedly was encouraged by what he saw in this Sark offense, mainly involving redshirt freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers and star sophomore wide receiver Xavier Worthy.

Given how much better Texas’ passing game looked than Alabama’s when Ewers was still in the contest, that has to benefit the Longhorns in the race to land a commitment from Hale.

It also helps that Texas looked good through the air when Ewers was still in the game given how they’re competing on the recruiting trail with Alabama to land Hale in the next couple of weeks.

Corian Gipson, S

An important visiting recruit for the Longhorns 2024 class was the touted four-star Lancaster safety Corian Gipson. This top-100 ranked 2024 high school recruit made his way to campus for his third unofficial visit of 2022.

And from everything we’ve heard since the conclusion of Gipson’s unofficial visit to Austin this weekend, it sounds like this was a rousing success.

The postgame reaction notes from various recruits from 247Sports this weekend indicates that Gipson also liked the atmosphere and he said the “atmosphere was just different”. That bodes well for the Longhorns in a recruitment where Texas is trying to stave off the likes of the Oregon Ducks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
