Trey Owens, QB

The lone in-state visiting quarterback among targets of the Longhorns 2024 class this weekend was the rising three-star Cy-Fair signal-caller Trey Owens. This was the fourth time that Owens unofficially visited Texas since the spring. It was also his third visit to Austin since the summer.

And it was pretty clear that Owens enjoyed his time on the Forty Acres this weekend. That will make it interesting to see if Sark and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee decide to send out an offer to Owens in the next few weeks after this key unofficial visit for the Alabama game.

After this game, Owens said that the atmosphere was “absolutely crazy” and that he was thrilled about how the fans “didn’t stop cheering”.

Derrick McFall, RB/ATH

A longtime target of the Longhorns 2024 class that was on campus in Austin yet again this weekend was the touted four-star Tyler High running back/athlete Derrick McFall. In the midst of his fourth unofficial visit of 2022 to Austin, McFall seemingly had another great time on the Forty Acres.

In the last year or so, we’ve seen McFall be pretty outspoken on social media in connection with the Longhorns.

McFall mentioned after this game that this was “a great game from both Texas and Alabama”. He also noted that the finish to this game for Texas “really stood out” to him.
