Micah Hudson, WR

One of the highest-rated visiting recruits on the Forty Acres this weekend was the elite five-star Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson. As one of the early top targets of the Longhorns 2024 class, Hudson was a critical visitor to watch for the Longhorns faithful in the last couple of days.

This was the second unofficial visit to Austin for Hudson since the summer. And it looks like this was a very successful trip for Hudson for this high-stakes game.

Hudson mentioned that he had “a really good time” and that he feels like “Texas would have won the game if they had Quinn available the entire game”. Last but not least, Hudson noted that he liked what he saw from how Sark and this staff utilized Worthy in the passing game.

That is very noteworthy to see how Sark’s on-field schematics impacted Hudson coming out of this important weekend visit.

Taylor Tatum, RB

A rising running back target to keep an eye on that has yet to get an offer from the Longhorns 2024 class is the highly touted four-star Longview product Taylor Tatum. The blue-chip teammate of the wideout Hale was on campus for his second unofficial visit to Austin since the summer of 2021.

And it sounds like Tatum had nothing but rave reviews coming out of his first game weekend visit with the Longhorns. Following this game, Tatum said that the “environment today in Austin has been absolutely electric”.

It’s important to note that Tatum mentioned he and new Texas running backs coach Tashard Choice are now in communication more often since Sep. 1. That could indicate an offer in the works in the near future from Choice and the Longhorns going out to Tatum. We will keep an eye on that at some point this fall.
