Michael Uini, OT

Among the top targets in the trenches for the Longhorns 2024 class at this point of the cycle is the five-star Copperas Cove (TX) offensive tackle Michael Uini. Depending on the recruiting service that you look at, Uini is often the top-ranked offensive tackle offer for the Longhorns 2024 class thus far.

Some of the major recruiting services have Uini listed as a five-star recruit, and others have him as a higher-rated four-star prospect. But the 6-foot-7 and 290-pound talented in-state OT Uini clearly has the tools that offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns are looking for to establish a solid foundation for this position group in the 2024 class.

There are quite a few schools in the running early on that look to have a real shot in the race to land a commitment from Uini. Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, and the Georgia Bulldogs are also some of the other top schools it appears early on for Uini.

Texas does look to have an edge early on, though, in the recruitment of Uini coming out of the weekend. Flood and the Longhorns hosted Uini for an unofficial visit to Austin over the weekend for that high-stakes Alabama game.

This was the second unofficial visit for Uini to Austin since the summer, which is the most of any schools that have offered him thus far.

According to the postgame recruit reactions from Inside Texas over the weekend (paid content), Uini said that he had an “awesome experience” in his first game weekend visiting Texas. It sounds like this unofficial visit to Austin for Uini was a rousing success. And it is something that can continue to help Flood and the Longhorns build up momentum in this recruitment.
