The highest-ranked official visitor among targets of the 2023 Texas football recruiting class last weekend was set to be the elite five-star Pinnacle (AZ) tight end Duce Robinson. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks were set to host the Arizona native tight end Robinson on his first visit to Austin for this massive game weekend against the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Sep. 10.

Yet, Robinson wasn’t able to make this official visit for the Alabama game weekend due to weather circumstances out of his control. Multiple sources (including Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods) reported after the Texas-Alabama game that Robinson wasn’t able to make this official visit due to adverse weather.

Pinnacle’s game that was originally scheduled for Sep. 9 was postponed to Sep. 10 due to lightning. That caused Robinson to miss the trip to Austin to make the Texas-Alabama game on Sep. 10.

Despite Robinson missing the official visit to Austin over the weekend, it still looks like he will be able to make his way to the Forty Acres at some point this fall.

Texas football working to get 5-Star TE Duce Robinson rescheduled for his official visit

According to a report from Keegan Pope of On3 on Sep. 12, Robinson is planning on rescheduling his official visit to Austin for later this fall.

Robinson currently has official visits on the books with the Georgia Bulldogs (Sep. 24), Alabama (Oct. 7), and Oregon Ducks (Nov. 11). That would leave the upcoming weekend for the matchup against the UTSA Roadrunners on Sep. 17 as the next possibility for Robinson to make the official visit. But that seems pretty abrupt.

More likely options would be when Texas faces the West Virginia Mountaineers (Oct. 1), Iowa State Cyclones (Oct. 15), and/or the Baylor Bears (Nov. 25). Granted, I would imagine that Texas would want to get Robinson on the books for a visit before the end of next month.

But that is all speculation at this point. We will continue to monitor this developing storyline as Texas tries to get this official visit rescheduled with Robinson.
