We are only a few hours away from kickoff between No. 21 ranked Texas football and the UTSA Roadrunners on Sep. 17. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian will host head coach Jeff Traylor and the defending Conference-USA Champion UTSA at home on the night of Sep. 17, looking to continue their solid start to the regular season slate.

But there are some doubters concerning what Sark and the Longhorns will be able to do against a tough UTSA squad. One such person that looks to be doubting Texas’ ability to stave off the upset this weekend against UTSA is ESPN’s Desmond Howard.

On the morning of Sep. 17 on ESPN’s College GameDay, Howard picked UTSA as his Superdog for Week 3 against the Longhorns. With UTSA as a 12.5-point underdog in this matchup against Texas, Howard clearly thinks the Roadrunners will at least cover the spread.

Howard isn’t the only media personality around the college football landscape, though, picking UTSA as a team to watch to put Texas on upset alert this weekend. On his show “Always College Football” this week, Greg McElroy said that Texas “better be careful” with the Roadrunners at home this weekend.

Sark and the Longhorns head into this game with a lot on the line before the start of Big 12 play. Texas can prove that there isn’t any hangover after they played more than well enough to upset the Tide at home on Sep. 10.

It’s easy to see how Texas could not have the same focus and energy coming out this weekend compared to last when they hosted the Tide. But this is where Sark and his staff can prove that this program is heading in the right direction for good.
