Texas football is set to open up Big 12 play this weekend against new head coach Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and No. 22 ranked Texas will face Texas Tech in the first road game of the season for the men in burnt orange.

Sark and the Longhorns head into this game with a record of 2-1 (0-0 Big 12) after a convincing 41-20 win at home on Sep. 17 over the UTSA Roadrunners. Texas also has a win over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and a loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide on the season so far.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech is sporting a record of 2-1 (0-0 Big 12) following a double-digit loss on the road to the No. 16 NC State Wolfpack on Sep. 17. The two wins on the season for Texas Tech came over the Houston Cougars and FCS Murray State Racers.

Texas will take on Texas Tech on the road at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, with kickoff time set for 2:30 p.m. CT on Sep. 24.
