Decision day has arrived for one of the top remaining targets in the 2023 Texas football recruiting class. Early in the afternoon of Sep. 21, the highly touted four-star Longview wide receiver Jalen Hale is set to announce his decision. And it looks like the decision was boiling down to Texas and the Alabama Crimson Tide for the last few weeks.

But there are some momentum swings that appear to be taking place in the 24 hours or so leading up to the decision of Hale on Sep. 21.

Some Texas fans that follow the recruiting trail on a regular basis might’ve noticed some of the forecasts coming in on the morning of Sep. 21 now favoring Alabama over Texas.

Alabama looks to be the pick over Texas football for 4-Star WR Jalen Hale

Nick Harris of Rivals flipped his Futurecast from Texas to Alabama on the night of Sep. 20.

Meanwhile, On3 national recruiting director Chad Simmons also put in a forecast with a moderate level of confidence that Hale will commit to Alabama.

All told, there are four On3 reporters/analysts that have forecasted Hale to commit to Alabama over Texas in the last 24 hours alone. We have similar trends from some of the other major recruiting services, such as Rivals and 247Sports.

It’s also worth noting that Mike Roach of Horns247 (paid content) mentioned that the momentum is starting to swing to Alabama on Sep. 21.

These are clearly some pretty strong indications coming out of the national media and the Texas reporters that Hale is not trending the Longhorns’ way on his decision day.
