We are getting very close to the kickoff between Texas football and the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game. On Oct. 8, Texas will try to end the Oklahoma winning streak at four games with a win of their own.

Texas originally opened up as a little more than a field-goal favorite in the betting odds. But the Longhorns ballooned to a heavier favorite as the week progressed. Throughout much of the week leading up to Red River, the Longhorns were a little more than a touchdown favorite over the Sooners.

But that spread expanded to nearly 10 points by the morning of Oct. 7. The betting odds widened after the news dropped that redshirt freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers would be getting the start for the first time since he was injured against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sep. 10.

The spread has narrowed once again. Less than 24 hours from the start of Red River, here’s a look at the pre-kickoff betting odds between Texas and Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Oct. 8, with the kickoff time set for 11 a.m. CT.

Texas is a 7.5-point favorite over Oklahoma in this game (per FanDuel). And the over/under is set at 65.5 points.

The moneyline currently sits in Texas’ favor (-280) over Oklahoma (+225).

According to the ESPN Football Power Index, Texas has a 68.3 percent chance to beat Oklahoma. That is a few percentage points higher than it was earlier in the week.
