Landyn Cleveland, S

One of the important 2024 recruits in attendance this weekend at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas for Red River was the rising three-star Mansfield Legacy safety Landyn Cleveland.

For the first time this fall, Cleveland was able to attend a Texas game. Granted, it did come as a visitor on the Oklahoma list for this weekend. But it was still good for Texas to make this type of impression still early on in the recruitment of Cleveland.

Cleveland reportedly said after this game that “I didn’t think this would be a blowout”. He followed that up by saying that “boy was I wrong”.

It really sounds like Texas made a very positive impression on Cleveland this weekend, which could serve as a key marker in his recruiting timeline moving forward.

Zina Umeozulu, EDGE

A top-rated 2024 recruit that was in attendance for Red River this weekend was the highly touted four-star Allen edge rusher Zina Umeozulu. This was the third time this fall that Umeozulu was in attendance for a Texas game. But the other two visits were unofficial where he was on the Forty Acres for game weekends.

Umeozulu reportedly stated after this game that this was a “wild game” and that “nobody really expected that” referring to the result in Texas’ favor.
