The visitor list is rapidly growing for Texas football for this weekend in the home contest at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Oct. 15 against the Iowa State Cyclones. And it now looks as if Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian are making a move to get another key visitor to campus for the Iowa State game this weekend.

According to a report from Gerry Hamilton of Inside Texas on Oct. 12 (paid content), Texas has a “likely” visitor this weekend in the fast-rising three-star Vanderbilt Commodores commit and North Crowley tight end Ka’Morreun Pimpton.

The visit this weekend for Pimpton to Austin to see Texas face Iowa State isn’t confirmed yet. But we will be following this storyline as we get closer to the weekend to see if and when he confirms the trip to Austin.

It’s also worth noting that Pimpton has yet to get an offer from Texas. His offer sheet is absolutely popping off lately, but Texas has yet to send one his way.

Yet, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Pimpton come away with an offer if he attends the Iowa State and there is some real traction between him and the staff.

Moreover, as the attention on the recruiting trail for the Fort Worth, TX, native Pimpton has picked up of late, so too has the Longhorns’ interest in the towering 6-foot-6 and 225-pound tight end. Hence the reason Texas is trying to get Pimpton to campus for an unofficial visit this weekend for the Iowa State game.

The aforementioned hot offer sheet for Pimpton of late has added multiple Power Five schools to the mix. Some of the schools that offered Pimpton in the last month or so are the Utah Utes, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Washington Huskies, and Arizona State Sun Devils.

Given how much Pimpton’s recruitment has heated up in the last couple of months, I’m sure there will be more Power Five offers coming his way in the next few weeks.

Texas currently holds commitments from two tight ends in the 2023 class as of Oct. 12, meaning that special teams coordinator/TE coach Jeff Banks and the Longhorns are still potentially seeking a third in this group. The two tight end commits in the class right now are three-star Spencer Shannon and three-star Will Randle.
