Bijan Robinson continues to be amazing

The running back duo of star junior Bijan Robinson and senior Roschon Johnson carried this team to a win this weekend. Bijan and Roschon were awesome in multiple phases of the game. And I didn’t really spot any mistakes from either of these two experienced rushers.

Bijan was the MVP of this game as he rushed for a whopping 141 yards on 28 carries (4.8 yards per carry). He added 36 receiving yards on four catches, with no touchdown catches. Bijan also didn’t have any rushing scores for the first time this season.

This one stat illustrates just how special Bijan was in this game. He almost doubled the next-highest rusher in terms of yards this season against Iowa State. Bijan is the only running back to hit triple digits in rushing yards against Iowa State since Oklahoma’s Kennedy Brooks rushed for 115 against the Cyclones on Nov. 20, 2021.

Yet, this was only the second time this season that Bijan was held under five yards per carry. Bijan also took more than 25 carries to get over 125 rushing yards, which is rare.

Roschon was also awesome for the Longhorns in this game. He rushed for more than 70 yards and was important on the final scoring drive for Texas. It’s also important to note that Roschon had a tough run that picked up the final first down to put this game away late in the fourth quarter for the Longhorns.
