Anthony Hill, LB

If there is one linebacker recruit that is committed elsewhere that Texas is still going all out for this fall, it’s definitely the elite five-star Denton Ryan product and Texas A&M Aggies pledge Anthony Hill. Texas isn’t going to go down lightly in this recruitment, despite Hill committing to Texas A&M late in the summer.

Texas has remained in constant contact with Hill since he committed to Texas A&M coming out of a visit to College Station during the final weekend of July.

And that is likely to continue to be the case until the pen is put to paper on signing day.

Moreover, I definitely wouldn’t sleep on Texas’ chances to flip Hill’s commitment from the Aggies by the time it’s all said and done this fall. And with the way that things are trending on the field of late for both Texas and Texas A&M, the Longhorns are starting to look better in this recruitment.

It’s worth noting that Hill is one of the priority targets of the Longhorns 2023 class that Manning is still helping the Texas staff recruit at this point of the fall. Arch has continued to recruit Hill heavily since his official visit to Austin back in June.

If Texas could manage to flip Hill’s commitment from Texas A&M before signing day, I’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger move that this staff could pull off on the recruiting trail in the 2023 class. Texas won’t find a better linebacker recruit than Hill in this recruiting cycle.
