Texas football commit Arch Manning breaks Newman High School record
The insane senior season at Isidore Newman continues for the elite five-star Texas football quarterback commit Arch Manning. Arch was able to break a pretty lofty record at Newman this week, just a few games after he broke the records for career passing yards and career passing touchdowns.
On Oct. 21, Arch was able to break the Newman record for total touchdowns (128). He surpassed the former Stanford Cardinal quarterback Jay Taylor for the most career total touchdowns with a win for the Greenies over the Metairie Park Country Day Cajuns.
To get the passing touchdown record for the Greenies, Manning surpassed 7,268 yards a few weeks ago in a dominant 52-22 win over Pearl River (LA). He also picked up the career passing touchdown record with 93 in that same game on Sep. 30 against Pearl River.
The passing touchdown record was previously held by one of his legendary uncles, Peyton Manning. And the passing yards record was held by another uncle of his, Eli Manning.

Arch now has 20 passing touchdowns on the season, per Max Preps. He’s also got a double-digit number of rushing scores on the season as Manning is having a massive senior campaign all-around for the Greenies.
Following the win over Metairie Park Country Day on Oct. 21, Manning and Newman are sporting a record of 6-1 (1-0 district). The lone loss on the season for Manning and the Greenies came at the hands of the undefeated Many (LA) Tigers on Sep. 23, by the final score of 25-17.
Texas currently holds commitments from 21 recruits in the 2023 class, highlighted by the top-ranked high school prospect in the nation in Arch. As the lone quarterback commit in the Longhorns 2023 class, Arch is the foundational recruit in the mix for this cycle.
