The most notable injury that everyone wants a status update on concerning the Horned Frogs this week has to do with the lower-body issue that star senior wide receiver Quentin Johnston is dealing with. Johnston is likely TCU’s best player, and his health is clearly an important subject for this Week 11 matchup.

Throughout the last couple of weeks, Johnston looked to be limited by a lower-body injury that kept him sidelined for much of last weekend’s contest in Fort Worth.

The one update we did get concerning Johnston’s status this week came courtesy of Dykes on Nov. 8. Dykes updated Johnston’s status by saying that “he anticipates Johnston will practice tomorrow” in reference to Nov. 9. This tweet from Charles Baggarly of Dallas News on Nov. 8 said that “they will feel things out and prioritize the star WRs longterm health”.

In the win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders last weekend, Johnston only took a couple of offensive snaps. That was his lowest total of the season in Big 12 play thus far. But it was pretty evident that Johnston was dealing with some bumps and bruises in TCU’s win over West Virginia on Oct. 29.

If Johnston is limited or out for the Horned Frogs in this key battle against the Longhorns in Austin this weekend, that would obviously have a massive impact on the TCU offense. So far this season, Johnston already has a career-high 650 receiving yards and four touchdown catches under his belt.
