3 priority 2023 recruits trending to Texas football this week
One of the biggest weeks on the trail in a long time for Texas football recruiting could be unfolding in front of our eyes in the last couple of days. Texas has started to pick up some serious momentum on the recruiting trail in the 2023 class in the last couple of days.
The potential for the Longhorns 2023 class to finish with a top five or top three ranking come signing day next month now looks to be very likely.
That said, Texas needs to take the early stages of this wave of momentum on the recruiting trail and convert on it with a big win on the field this coming weekend. What could take the top off of this building momentum on the recruiting trail for head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns in the 2023 class is a win at home at DKR on Nov. 12 over the undefeated TCU Horned Frogs.
Texas will be playing in front of what could be at least a few dozen visitors on campus for the TCU game this weekend. And there are a few recruits that Texas is trending for of late that could land in the 2023 class in the near future if the Longhorns do pull out the Week 11 win over the Horned Frogs.
Anthony Hill and the priority recruits Texas football is on pace to land in the 2023 class
Here’s a look at three priority recruits the Longhorns are trending for this week ahead of the Texas-TCU game on Nov. 12.
Jelani McDonald, ATH
One of the official visitors confirmed for the Texas-TCU game in Austin this weekend is the former four-star Oklahoma State Cowboys commit and Waco Connally athlete Jelani McDonald. He will take his second visit to Texas in as many months for the TCU game. McDonald also unofficially visited Texas for the Iowa State Cyclones game last month.
Multiple major recruiting services are projecting McDonald’s commitment to Texas at the moment. There is one expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction favoring McDonald to land with the Longhorns.
And while there aren’t any FutureCasts in from Rivals analysts and/or publishers yet, there seems to be a lot of optimism with Orangebloods that McDonald will join the Longhorns 2023 class.
Moreover, On3 looks to be the most confident in Texas’ chances to land McDonald’s pledge. The On3 recruiting prediction machine gives Texas more than a 99 percent chance to land McDonald. There are two On3 recruiting experts/analysts that are projecting McDonald’s commitment to Texas.
McDonald re-opened his recruitment following the unofficial visit to Austin and the Texas offer he received last month. The timing on that, combined with some of the expert forecasts projecting his commitment to Texas, make the building momentum between him and the Longhorns undoubted.
