This weekend will have a massive impact on the 2023 Texas football recruiting class as head coach Steve Sarkisian’s squad readies up to host the undefeated and No. 4 ranked TCU Horned Frogs at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.

Sark and the Longhorns will be looking to make a statement to the rest of the Big 12 that this team is to be taken seriously down the stretch. A win over TCU would put Texas in a great position to get one of the two spots in the Big 12 Championship Game next month.

And some of the momentum that the Longhorns have on the field of late is starting to translate to the recruiting trail. Texas already flipped the commitment of the highly touted four-star Austin Westlake edge rusher Colton Vasek from the Oklahoma Sooners earlier this week. Texas also looks to be on the right track to eventually get commitments from the elite five-star Denton Ryan linebacker Anthony Hill and four-star Waco Connally athlete Jelani McDonald in the next few weeks.

Earlier this week, Texas saw the priority linebacker Hill de-commit from the Texas A&M Aggies. He’ll be on campus for an unofficial visit this weekend. McDonald also de-committed from the Oklahoma State Cowboys a couple of weeks, and now looks to be trending to Texas.

But there are some other official visitors that will be on campus this weekend that are definitely worth talking about.
