Duce Robinson, TE

The highest-rated official visitor that will be on campus for the Texas-TCU game this weekend is the elite five-star Pinnacle (AZ) tight end Duce Robinson. The USC Trojans’ longtime priority recruit has a few schools on his list as he looks to narrow down his finalists ahead of signing day.

Robinson has the likes of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia, USC, and Texas among his frontrunners at this point of his recruitment. And if Texas can get a big win over a top-five ranked TCU team at home this weekend, that would go a long way to making the impression that Texas needs Robinson to have of this program leaving the Forty Acres in a couple of days.

At the moment, it’s hard to tell whether it’s Georgia or USC that is the actual leader in the race to land Robinson’s commitment. But Georgia has made a very compelling case with the elite tight end in the last few weeks.

Ja’Kobi Lane, WR

Another important recruit with ties to new head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans is the touted four-star Mesa Red Mountain (AZ) wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane. The recent USC commit (who gave his pledge to the Trojans in late August) still looks to be exploring some of his options as signing day approaches.

It’s worth noting that this weekend will be the first visit that Lane takes to a school that is not USC since he committed to the Trojans a few months ago. That is huge for the Longhorns, but it will still be a battle to flip his commitment before signing day.

Texas is likely looking at the 6-foot-5 and 185-pound Lane to fill the role of an outside receiver since the de-commitment of Wilson last month. Lane could be a nice fit on the boundary for this Texas offense and his athletic traits should make him a nice fit in the Sark offense.
