Jason Bean, QB
Here’s where the injury updates do start to get a bit concerning for the Jayhawks when we start talking about the health of the key players in this quarterback room.
It looks like Kansas is dealing with injuries to both of its top two quarterbacks coming out of the loss to Texas Tech.
In the fourth quarter against Texas Tech, Kansas saw redshirt senior quarterback Jason Bean get banged up after he took a hard hit. And from what we’ve heard and seen in the last couple of days concerning Bean’s status for the Texas game, he’s probably going to be limited in practice throughout the week.
Jason Bean took another hit to his mid section for the second week and wasn't able to come back in.

Jalon Daniels is practicing every day and is very close. #kufball
Bean apparently took a hit to his midsection in the loss to Texas Tech last weekend. And it looks like it was the second time in as many weeks that he was injured with the same type of ailment.
The difference between last week and the week prior in terms of the nature of the injury to Bean’s midsection is that he wasn’t able to finish the game in Lubbock on Nov. 12. While he did take some hits against Oklahoma State, Kanas never had to pull him out of the game.
Kansas head coach Lance Leipold said QB Jalon Daniels, who has been out over a month with an injury, is “close”. Daniels had 4 TD’s against Texas last year.

Backup Jason Bean, who has played well in place of Daniels, was banged up against Texas Tech.
In place of the injured Bean in the fourth quarter against Texas Tech, Leipold got true freshman quarterback Ethan Vasko some snaps. And by the time Vask was thrust into action in the fourth quarter last weekend, it was too little too late for the Jayhawks.
If the final injured Jayhawks player on this list isn’t able to go this week, then the status of Bean becomes one of the biggest storylines of the Texas-Kansas game on Nov. 19.
For the time being, though, it sounds like Bean is going to be limited in practice early this week. We will continue to monitor his status for updates as the week progresses leading into the Texas game.
