Two of the biggest recruiting weekends of the fall thus far for Texas football seem to be plagued with missed opportunities. Last weekend, Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian couldn’t get it done when it mattered against the No. 4 ranked and undefeated TCU Horned Frogs at home.

Sark and the Longhorns wound up falling short to TCU on Nov. 12 by the final score of 17-10.

If the offense even produced at an average level in this game, Texas was going to beat TCU by at least one touchdown.

Instead, the defense actually outscored the offense as all redshirt freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns could manage was a field goal. The touchdown came thanks to a scoop and score in the fourth quarter from junior defensive back Jahdae Barron.

To make matters worse for the Longhorns, there were plenty of impressionable recruits on campus over the weekend for the TCU game. Texas definitely lost some momentum on the recruiting trail coming out of the weekend.

But this wasn’t the only game where Texas fell short when it had an opportunity to pick up a big win against a top-five team at home in front of numerous priority recruits. On Sep. 10, Texas fell short by one point to the Alabama Crimson Tide at home.

Granted, it felt like there were a lot more positives coming out of that game than there were last weekend.

What is pretty surprising, though, coming out of the weekend is the positive impression that at least some of the visiting recruits were left with from what we’ve heard in the last 24-48 hours.

With that in mind, here’s a look at four key recruits that were still impressed with Texas that visited last weekend, despite the loss to TCU.
