Social media, fans react to Texas football’s gritty win over Baylor
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and No. 23 ranked Texas football were able to win their second game in a row to close out the regular season on Black Friday. Texas downed head coach Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears on the afternoon of Nov. 25 to reach the eight-win mark to conclude the regular season on a high note.
Sark and the Longhorns notched this big win over Aranda and the Bears at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Nov. 25 by the final score of 38-27. Star junior running back Bijan Robinson and senior Roschon Johnson had some huge performances on Senior Day to guide this Texas offense in the second half.
Bijan went off for around 150 rushing yards in the second half alone. We also saw Roschon have a massive game in his last outing in DKR with two touchdowns on the ground.
Down the stretch in this game, it looked like Sark was ready to put this one on the backs of Bijan and Roschon. Redshirt freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers was struggling throughout much of this game, including a safety on an international grounding call from his own end zone and a fumble that resulted in a scoop and score to give Baylor the lead in the third quarter.
But as we’ve seen for much of the season, all Texas needs to do is give the ball on a consistent basis to the duo of Bijan and Roschon.
Social media reacts to Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson leading Texas football to a win over Baylor
Here’s a look at the social media reaction from the fans and media as Texas gets the double-digit win over Baylor at home in Week 13.
A lot of history for Bijan in the last few games.
We all feel the same.
I would have to agree with this sentiment. Bijan put Texas on his back on multiple occasions this fall.
I don’t think Roschon is getting enough love for just how good he was in this game.
This is pretty crazy to think about.

It’s really nice to see these seniors go out on the right foot.
The 11-point win over Baylor moves Texas to a mark of 8-4 (6-3 Big 12) to close out the regular season. Now Roschon, Bijan, and the Longhorns have to wait for the Kansas Jayhawks to try and upset the Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan on Nov. 26. If Kansas does beat Kansas State this weekend, Texas will face the TCU Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Championship Game on Dec. 3.
